This camp started in 1955 and is located on 1,400 wooded acres on Orchard Lake (a 65 acre man-made lake created from damming Sprague Brook. and flooding an apple orchard), offers swimming, canoes, rowboats, tent campsites, winter shelters, a rifle range, dining hall, trading post, a C.O.P.E. course (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) and extensive hiking trails and mountain bike trails, some of them are in the Catskill Forest Preserve.. It is a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Venturer summer camp.
Fees are per weekend, unless stated otherwise.
Lean-tos have 2 two person bunk beds (sleeps 4) with steel springs
(no mattresses). Water and latrines are nearby sites.

Camp Wauwepex opened in 1921 in Miller Place, then moved to its present location in 1922. Camp Wauwepex was later renamed to Schiff Scout Reservation in memory of John M. Schiff. The original Schiff Scout Reservation in Mendham N.J. was the National Training Center for professional (paid) BSA Scout Executives until the National Council moved to Texas. This new "Schiff" recently adopted the original Schiff Scout Reservation Logo and uses it on their patch, mug and hat pins. Today they are a Cub Scout and Webelos summer camp that also offers year-round camping.
Located on 400 wooded acres on Deep Pond (30 acres) offers swimming, a fishing dock (catch Yellow Perch, Pickerel and Sunfish), canoe and mountain bike rentals, 2.5 mile Mountain Bike Trail, 4 hiking trails, tent campites, Adorondack (lean-tos) shelters, winter cabins, 3 lodges, restrooms and showers, 2 archery ranges, a rifle range, a C.O.P.E. course (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience), a dining hall, a training center, an athletics field, a picnic area, a Family camping area, a pavilion, 3 Chapels (Protestant, Catholic and Jewish).
