    Council Geographic Area Information

      The Patriots’ Path Council was formed through the merger of the Watchung Area Council and the Morris-Sussex Area Council and created the largest BSA council in New Jersey and the fourth largest on the eastern seaboard.

      Located on 977 acres of land and a lake (50-200 acres) and is surounded by the Allamuchy Mountain State Park. The reservation is split into two camps, Camp Somers and Camp Wheeler. They offer swimming, boating, canoeing, and small-boat sailing, tent campsites, Adirondack (lean-to) shelters, winter cabins, athletics field, boat and canoe rentals, a dining hall, patrol cooking during summer camp, a C.O.P.E. Course (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) and high adventure program. They are a Boy Scout summer camp and extended Cub Scout camp. Camp Wheeler also offers Cub Scout Family Camping.

      • Directions to Allamunchy Scout Reservation

        • From Route I-80: Take Exit 25, Route 206 North towards Newton. Take the first ramp to the right. Follow the Waterloo Village signs. Take the first right, just before the light, onto Continental Drive. At the end of Continental Drive turn left onto Waterloo Road. The entrance to the Scout Reservation is approximately one mile down, on the right, opposite and a few hundred yards past the entrance to Waterloo Village.

        • From US Route 206: Follow US Route 206 to Waterloo Road. At the intersection of Waterloo Road and US Route 206 you will see a Shell Station, a Building Blocks of Learning Center, a Sovereign Bank branch, a PNC Bank branch, and signs to Allamuchy State Park and Waterloo Village. From the North turn right. From the South turn left. Follow Waterloo Road to the camp.



      Sabattis Adventure Camp
      Long Lake, New York

      Offers Boy Scout canoeing, hiking and backpacking treks in 1200 acres of Adirondack Park. The main camp is located between Long Lake and Tupper Lake, New York.

      Located on 450 acres and a Lake (10-50 acres) offers swimming, boating, canoeing, and possible limited sailing, nine tent campsites, four Adirondack (lean-to) shelters, winter cabins, rifle range, archery range, shotgun shooting, a dining hall, athletics field, and boat and canoe rentals, hikes to Indian Cliffs (1,100 feet above sea level) or the wildlife refuge at Wildcat Ridge with mountain top views. It is a Boy Scout summer camp.

      • Directions to Winnebago Scout Reservation

        • Take I-80 to Exit 37, Hibernia/Rockaway. Turn left at the end of the ramp and head north on Route 513, Green Pond Road. Follow Route 513 North for about 6 miles. Just past mile marker 52, turn right onto Timberbrook Road. Follow Timberbrook Road for approximately 1 mile. You will pass Durham Road on your right and Jacobs Road on your left. Drive past the Dead End sign going downhill. The road will change from a paved to a dirt road. Drive about 0.3 mile and the entrance for Winnebago Scout Reservation will be on your right. Follow the road into camp and the camp parking lot will be on your left.
